One saw her last in her most glamorous role till date in Kidnap few months back, In a complete contrast to it now, Minissha will be seen in a very rustic village girl role in Shyam Benegal’s next. The acclaimed filmmaker has roped her for the main female lead in his next, tentatively titled, Abba Ka Kuan. She will play Boman Irani’s daughter in the film. The film is being produced by Reliance Big Entertainment. This will be Shyam Benegal’s next comic venture after the success of Welcome To Sajjanpur. Boman Irani plays a double role in the film.
Benegal tells us, “It is a comedy, it is also a satire. It is a little more political than what my last film was and I hope it will be very funny. The main part is of Boman Irani. He is a wonderful actor” informed the director recently. This is a story close to the heart of Benegal since it will be shot in his home town Hyderabad. Boman of course is very excited with the project.”
Minissha Lamba is mighty pleased the way her career graph is spiralling upwards. The actress has had a success like Bachna Ae Haseeno recently. “I have been selective about what I do but yes, I am satisfied with the way my career has been shaping up. I have always believed in an upward graph at the box office. I always wanted it to be slow and my career is indeed winding from better to the best.” Looking back at her career she says, “I had nobody in the industry. I just fought my way up here. Now Deepika, who has been the face of countless brands, graces the cover of not one but two fashion and lifestyle magazines this month. While she is lending her pretty face to the latest edition of the famous lifestyle magazine The Man, Deepika is also seen strutting her stuff in the special anniversary issue of fashion magazine Elle.

Minissha Lamba who tried her best to sizzle in a bikini in Kidnap says she loves the idea of watching a film in a single screen theatre. She reportedly loves it when audiences whistle at strategic moments. Reportedly when Kidnap was released, the actress took her friends to an old theatre in Mumbai to experience what she thinks is the real fun.
The Shaurya and Bachna Ae Haseeno lass says she doesn't know how to whistle, but she got very excited when people started whistling when she came out in her bikini-clad on screen. She has apparently said, "I really wanted to see the film among people who would have whistled, hooted, and all of that. I have never seen a film like that, none of my films at least." 2008 was a year when quite a few newcomers made a mark in their very first film. Actors like Anushka, Asin, Adah and Prachi Desai made a thumping impression while Genelia D’Souza saw a revival in her career with ‘Jaane Tu Jaane Naa’. Katrina Kaif got her hits but there wasn’t a single performance that could make the cut into the Top-10 of the year while big guns like Priyanka Chopra, Aishwarya Rai, Bipasha Basu and Kajol continued to reign. Joginder Tuteja looks at some of the best performances by a female actor in the year gone by.
10. Prachi Desai (Rock On)
Her foray into the big screen was much welcomed with ‘Rock On’. An unconventional way to begin her Bollywood innings, what with playing the part of a married woman and no romantic angle per se, Prachi Desai was courageous enough to take a plunge into a film that had a director (Abhishek Kapoor) with a flop tag (Aryan - The Unbreakable) to his name. Still, with people like Farhan Akhtar, Ritesh Sidhwani, Shanka, Ehsaan and Loy attached to the project, she got herself a start with ‘Rock On’. The ploy worked and how! With a restrained performance, she was the person who got a certain ‘thehrav’ to the rocking proceedings of ‘Rock On’. The million dollar question is - ‘Will she be able to be a part of the glam brigade from here on?’

Chartbusting duo Vishal-Shekhar complete ten years in Bollywood this year. Their first feature film composition was Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi and Musu Musu Hasi remains a hot favourite. We spoke to Shekhar Ravjiani about his beginnings in Bollywood, how he composes his music and also his upcoming projects.
So how does it feel after ten years in Bollywood?
It feels great. It has been a very good journey, working with cool directors who have extracted good work from us. It hasn't been a struggle at all, by the grace of God. We didn't know anyone in the industry. Raj Kaushal is a friend and he offered Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi to us, after which other people started calling us and giving us work. I'd like to thank God for our success.

After the hit of ‘Om Shanti Om’, Deepika Padukone has been the talk around the town. She was last seen with her real life love Ranbir Kapoor in ‘Bachna Ae Haseeno’ and will soon be seen with Akshay Kumar in ‘Chandni Chowk To China’.
The latest buzz in the B-Town is Deepika Padukone's romance with Hrithik Roshan. Shocked? Ranbir Kapoor and she broke up? How and when did this happen? Hold, settle down your thoughts! Director Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s has finalized Deepika and Hrithik for his next film which is going to be a touching love story. Though nothing has been completely finalized yet as Hrithik is busy shooting overseas for Rakesh Roshan's Kites and Deepika is occupied with Saif’s untitled project directed by Imtiaz Ali.
The sources also reveal that the movie will also have Ranbir Kapoor, whose debut film was directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali only. The film is to be a contemporary love story, having a love triangle. Bhansali is also further narrowing down the rest of the star cast for the film.

Of late, there have been talks about Katrina Kaif dancing at JW Marriott on New Year’s Eve and charged Rs. 1,00,00,000 to do that. It was even heard that she has done better than Bipasha who charger Rs. 90,00,000 for a 30 minutes performance at Marriot last year.
But now it seems Bipasha has bettered that. The buzz is that Bips will get Rs 1,50,00,000 to dance at Sahara Star. Bips is now in the process of finalizing her act and is also taking care of the songs, costumes and other things.
